Youth Ministries

Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of our young people and the sharing of the unique gifts of our youth with the larger community. At the heart of youth ministry is our human need for significant relationships. Our youth ministry program strives to build relationships with our young people and different generations throughout the church. Youth Ministry is not done by one person, it takes an entire community to do youth ministry well. Our youth ministry program is rooted in evangelization, advocacy, catechesis, prayer and worship, community, justice and service, leadership development, and pastoral care. Our goal is to integrate our young people into every aspect of our parish life and to empower them to continue to live a faith filled life.
YOUTH GROUPS:
Age appropriate youth groups are offered for 6-7-8th graders and 9-12th graders. We come together, share a meal together, play together, pray together and spend time in fellowship.
SERVICE SUNDAYS:
6-12th graders are invited to come together monthly to complete a service project together. Service opportunities benefit different organizations within our community. The youth come together, share a meal together, spend some time learning about the organization we are helping and then we come together to do a service project.
CASTAWAY:
Is a three day retreat that the Diocese puts on that we participate in. Castaway is designed to be the first retreat experience young people have. They join over 300 youth and adults from across our diocese to learn about and grow in their faith. They participate in small groups, large groups, free time, mass, adoration, reconciliation and so much more. This retreat truly empowers the young people to come back and be involved in their parish community.
